Statement By The Rotaract President 2024/25

Fatima Richards Kamara

“Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek.

Distinguished Rotaractors, honored guests, and friends, today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our Rotaract journey. Our mission, deeply rooted in service, fellowship, and community development, inspires me every day.

Rotaract is not just a club; it is a movement. It is a testament to what young leaders can achieve when they come together with a shared vision of making the world a better place. We are a diverse group of individuals united by a common purpose, driven by a desire to create positive change in our communities and beyond.

In the words of Helen Keller, the famous American author, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Our strength lies in our unity, commitment, and collective efforts. Over the past year, we have seen incredible examples of this unity in action. We have organized impactful projects, raised funds for important causes, and extended our hands to those in need. Each act of service, no matter how small, has contributed to a ripple effect of goodness and hope.

As I take on this role, I am filled with a sense of duty and excitement. We have a strong foundation built by those who came before us, and it is now our turn to build upon it. Our goal is not only to respond to the needs of our communities but to anticipate them, be proactive in our approach, and lead by example.

Leadership is not a title or a position; it is action and example. As Rotaractors, we must embody the values of integrity, compassion, and commitment. We must be the change we wish to see in the world (Mahatma Gandhi). Let us inspire others through our dedication, motivate through our passion, and lead with our hearts.

In the coming year, I envision a Rotaract that is more dynamic, more inclusive, and more impactful than ever before. Together, we will tackle new challenges, celebrate our successes, and learn from our experiences. We will continue to empower each other, fostering a culture of growth and support.

To our members, thank you for your unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. Your efforts and dedication are the lifeblood of this organization. To our distinguished guests, partners, and supporters, thank you for believing in us and joining us in this great cause. Your contributions make our work possible and amplify our impact.

As we embark on this new chapter, let us remember that leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in our charge. It is about lifting each other up, working together towards a common goal, and making a difference in the lives of others.

Together, we will continue to shine as beacons of hope and agents of change. Together, we will lead with purpose, passion, and perseverance.

Thank you and let us make this Rotary year our best yet.
