Empowering Leaders: A Recap of the Rotaract Club of Mount Aureol’s Training Day
Calling all future and current leaders! On February 24th, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Mount Aureol hosted a dynamic Leadership Training Day.
Just like Rotaract Clubs around the world, the Mount Aureol chapter empowers young adults (aged 18+) to connect with community leaders, build their leadership skills, and embrace the spirit of service.
Our esteemed facilitator, Rtn. Lena Thompson, kicked things off with a deep dive into the core principles of Rotary and leadership within the organization. Participants learned about Rotaract’s guiding values, including “Service Above Self,” diversity, integrity, and the Rotary 4-Way Test. It was an enlightening and enriching session!
Next, Rtr. Jehu Henciles led an engaging discussion on the qualities that make a fantastic Rotaractor. By focusing on values like service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership, members gained a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities within the club. Henciles also emphasized the importance of dedicating time, talent, and resources to Rotaract activities, highlighting the club’s commitment to serving the community and tackling challenges.
Keeping the energy high, Henciles explored the concept of Rotary Education. This session stressed the importance of continuous learning, building connections, and maintaining professionalism within Rotaract.
The day wrapped up with a comprehensive presentation by Rtr. John Hooke on DAC Experiences. Hooke shed light on the value of attending Rotary programs and how these opportunities can fuel personal and professional growth.
A huge thank you to our dedicated facilitators, Rtn. Lena Thompson, Rtr. Jehu Henciles, and Rtr. John Hooke, for making this training day a blend of education and fun!
Special thanks to the Project chair for this year’s Kip Pikin Kompin Project, Rtr. Alfred Theophilus Davie Perry and the committee members. To all Rotaractors, it shows how selfless you all were, amidst the rain, you guys showed that, in serving humanity, nothing can stop us all. And to all those who contributed, financially towards this year’s Kip Pikin Kompin Project, we really do appreciate it. Let’s keep working and continue making great impacts on the lives of people.
